When bacteria in the gut are off-balance, it can lead to indigestion, constipation and discomfort. Now, researchers at Lund University have reported that unhealthy levels of gut flora may also lead to obesity.
Working in the lab, the team of scientists found that lactic acid bacteria, called Lactobacillus plantarum, may help to prevent excess body fat, since they have been shown to promote a healthy gut environment.
"Rats who were given this specific lactic acid bacterium from their time in the uterus up to adult age put on significantly less weight than other rats. Both groups ate the same amount of high-energy food," said co-author Caroline Karlsson.
Moreover, the bacteria was shown to reduce the rodents' levels of inflammation, a condition that has been linked to diseases like cancer and diabetes.
In a human study, the researchers found that newborn babies with a high birth weight were more likely to have unhealthy bacteria, like E. coli, in their intestines.
Results of this study suggest that eating yogurt or natural dietary supplements like probiotic capsules may promote healthy gut flora, which could lead to optimal overall health.

I had reached home from work in London, and was in agony with my lower back pain.
We had just finished dinner in the kitchen and my son suggested I took some
Ibuprofen pain killer tablets.
I had not taken any medicine for many years. but agreed as I was in agony
I swallowed 2 and I felt them dissolving into my body and meridians.
I felt very funny & spaced out then suddenly
My eyes could see into other dimensions and I could hear Voices. Voices in different Tongues!
I cried out, “Baba. what is happening to me help me!“
Suddenly Sai Baba appeared in our kitchen looking at me,
“Come with me, my son“ he said.
He pulled my soul out of my body, and we were flying!
”Where are you taking me”, I cried, ”Baba, heal my back, I do not want to fly with you please heal me”.
We flew together and landed in a huge American factory.
”Look”, Baba said, I saw millions of tablets being churned out on conveyor belts.
Heal my back please why have you brought me here.
”Amarjit, I want you to see who the real controllers of these factories are”, He waved his hands and a dimension opened , I saw huge Reptilian Lizards overseeing the manufacture of these tablets.
