The (Counterintuitive) Secret To Success: What You Perceive is What You Receive
Ken Roberts | Aug 19, 2011 | Comments 4
Your "dream" is, simply, what you love to do. And "success" means earning a living doing what you love to do: studying movies, watching certain TV programs, composing letters, exploring antique stores, stamp collecting, dog training, building model trains, cooking, sewing, sailing, teaching, flying. Do whatever you love to do, no matter how silly, irresponsible, childish, useless or even embarrassing it may seem. All that matters is that you love doing it!
It took 32 years to finally discover how to earn a living doing what I love (writing and teaching).
And all the while (probably just like you do, too), I devoured every self-help book I could get my hands on (holding my breath, hoping the bookstore clerk wouldn’t call for credit card authorization as they did in those days). I attended more self-improvement seminars than I care to remember, and even went to career counselors asking what I was supposed to do with my life. (It’s still uncomfortable admitting all this.)
So for now, let me just say that success is not about goals, plans, resolutions, positive thinking, affirmations or will power. Oh, the years and money I wasted on all that. The truth is that all those are born out of resistance; resistance is fear; and fear repels your dream and success.
What I finally learned the long, hard way had me not only living my dream, but also earning more money than I ever imagined and ever would have dared to set as a "goal." I would have cheated myself with a self-concocted goal. (So far, I’ve paid more than $55 million in personal income taxes alone.)
Then, it took another 11 years to learn how to accelerate this technique and teach it to others. I titled it The Ultimate Technique for Success — A Step of Faith That Makes Any Dream Come True.
What is "The Ultimate Technique for Success”?
How many times have you thrown up your hands in discouragement, even desperation, and asked: What do I do now? When this happens, you’re on the right track; you just need to go farther than you ever knew to go before. This is why success is so elusive. You cannot think your way into right action, but you can act your way into right thinking.
It takes action — physical action — to literally rewire your brain for success. (Scientists can actually plot this now.)
You need to take specific, deliberate actions, inspired by your dream-energized intention. This changes your perception. And what you perceive is what you receive. What does that mean? I’ll show you:
To illustrate this principle, please read this sentence:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE
RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC
STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.
Counting only once, how many times does the letter “F” appear above?"
Did you count three F’s? Most people see only three F’s because our minds read the word "of" as "ov." Thus, to see all six F’s, you must be consciously counterintuitive and actually override your own mind to obtain the correct result.
Given the very same circumstances, experiences and events of your life, many individuals became millionaires doing what they love to do. Right off the bat, you can easily think of others who became rich and famous doing the very same thing you love to do, too.
So what’s the difference? Perception, that’s all. Using our metaphor, they have a toolbox with four, five or six F’s to work with; whereas you still erroneously believe you have only three F’s in your toolbox at your disposal.
So become more counterintuitive this month. Begin changing your perception right now.
Consciously override your mind, question your habitual reactions and begin asking: What is it I’m not seeing here? And rather than ask "why is this happening to me?" as you instinctively do now, begin wondering "why is this happening for me?" instead.
I’ll see the newer you here next month with another dramatic demonstration and more specific, inspired actions that demonstrably change your perception — fast.
Onward & Upward!

About the Author: Ken Roberts finally learned how to live The American Dream. (As of 2011, he's paid over $55 million in personal income taxes alone.) A true rags-to-riches Horatio Alger story, he graduated high school with (barely) a C average, dropped out of four colleges, then set out to follow his Dream of writing and teaching. It took him 13 years to finally realize that goals, plans, will power, positive thinking, and mimicking the habits of highly successful people is NOT how to succeed (those REPEL our Dreams because they're based on resistance!). Then he was underway — building businesses that became among the largest of their kind in the world. With over 500 employees, he taught more than a million people in 89 countries how to understand and trade the commodity markets. In 1997, WORTH Magazine declared: ". . . Ken Roberts has introduced more people to [commodities] than anyone in the universe."
Roberts "retired," sold his companies in 2006, and immediately began creating what he had long dreamed of, what would help even more individuals realize their Dreams too: The first-ever "Ultimate Technique for Success" Club that teaches the REAL Secret to Success (and how to achieve it much faster than 13 years). His new Handbook guides anyone with a Dream how to turn that passion into a successful business, step by step. (Ken's wearing a new hat now too . . .)

I LOVE the point you make about perception. It’s a timely lesson to look more closely and seek the unexpected.
It took me a while to find the 6th F, the one in scientific.
This was an interesting experiment.
Thanks
brilliant…what more can i say..i once read a whole message that was written incorrect to show the power of the human brain, in it it read how the brain can read anything that is written down wrong as long as the first and the last letter where in the right place and all the other letters where corect but muddled up. that was fasanating,… so how did i miss 3 of the fs first time round?.THIS ARTICLE JUST REMINDED ME HOW MUCH MORE THERE IS TO THE HUMAN BRAIN..ONCE AGAIN BRILLIANT
The article was brilliant, and I can easly relate to. For me success is, that i’m able to return to school at age of 62, and have a GPA of 4.5 .
