Your Car Can Give You Pneumonia

If you warm up your car in your garage every morning or you spend a lot of time in heavy traffic, all that car exhaust may make you more prone to pneumonia. A study in England found that an extra 2,000 people a year die in Great Britain from pneumonia linked to pollution from car exhaust. The reason, researchers believe, is that emissions from cars directly damages lung tissue.
In this study, published in Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, the scientists also show that peptic ulcers, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart disease, lung and stomach cancer were linked to air pollution from automobiles.
